STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM - US NORTHWEST - BONE RIVER, WA |
||
Pristine and beautiful Bone River is located in Pacific County in southwestern Washington. As part of the Willapa Bay ecosystem, its excellent saltwater marsh helps protect the most productive oyster-growing wetland in the United States. The Bone River area includes many types of animal and marine life including migratory birds, Roosevelt elk, bald eagles and salmon. In 1990, the Hancock Timber Resource Group recognized the need for preserving this 888-acre watershed area. Through the work of the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and The Nature Conservancy of Washington, this sensitive land will remain protected.
