Hancock Timber Resource Group (HTRG) has long had a history of providing high quality forest management on its investor's owned properties. Our forest management operations across the globe provide an extensive range of day-to-day, on-the-ground timberland management services through our forestry personnel. These services, which now encompass management of over 6.5 million acres, (2.6 million hectares), are customized to fit the physical characteristics of each investor's forest.
The foundation of Hancock ForestryŽ rests on a commitment to perform leading-edge forest management and environmental stewardship. Our goal is to improve overall returns, reduce risk, and improve alignment of interests while protecting and enhancing environmental and social aspects of the lands we manage. Our program is geared towards ensuring quality and consistency in managing the forests of HTRG investors.
We realize that these high standards will require continuous improvement in all aspects of our forest operations -- our standards are measured against the industry's recognized benchmarks including the Sustainable Forestry InitiativeŽ and Forest Stewardship Council. Sustainability has become a very important concept to the public in recent years. At HTRG, our goal is to implement a land stewardship ethic that integrates the growing, managing, and harvesting of trees for useful products with the conservation of soil, air, and water quality; biological diversity; wildlife and aquatic habitat; and recreation, and aesthetics.
In short, our sustainable forestry practices embrace a stewardship ethic that focuses on continuously enhancing the quality of our investors' properties, and ultimately, the quality of our investors' portfolios.
